CCC History...

In 1984 Fraser and Dale Hardy  lead a team of people to establish and found the Christian Community Church. This team originated and evolved out of a Youth group Fraser was pastoring at the time, and Fraser felt God was calling both himself and the youth he was leading, to plant a church which would become an apostolic base committed to planting relational, missional churches.
In the beginning, CCC met in a number of different venues before purchasing “The Mill” on Grey Street in 1992.  We moved to our current facility in 1999, and this move has allowed us to grow and expand significantly. With this growth we have seen a wide range of new activities and expressions emerge from within the fellowship, one of which has been the planting of other churches.
As more and more leaders started to connect with Fraser, and a growing understanding and desire for apostolic involvement, LinkNZ was formalized as a charitable trust and Fraser and Dale began overseeing our church network full-time in 2001.  Since then CCC has transitioned from their leadership to that of Nigel and Caroline Dixon (2001-2008) to the present leadership team of Graeme and Michelle Brock, also with a new eldership team.
The journey has definitely shaped who we are as a people – through the charismatic movement we value the gifts of the Spirit, small group life, and worship. The relational values of people like Barney Coombes, have had a huge influence on how we understand covenant, accountability and pastoral care. Now, as part of a network of churches in LinkNZ we are grappling with how to outwork our calling to New Zealand and beyond.
